June 14 - The annual SCRAP/OREAP Field School opens at 9 am at the Field Bickford Site on Durham Point. We are there Monday through Friday 9 am to 4 pm. We will be there until July 9. Please stop by and see us!

Richard Boisvert is the NH Coordinator of the State Conservation and Rescue Archaeology Program (SCRAP) which is operated through the NH Division of Historical Resources. A native of NH, he received his BA at Beloit College, Beloit Wisconsin and MA and PhD at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Ky. before returning to NH. He has been employed with the NHDHR since 1987 and has served as State Archaeologist since 2002. In addition to directing the annual SCRAP field schools, he coordinates additional field investigations, laboratory work and publication of investigations from these projects. The principal areas of research are on lithic technology (the manufacture and use of stone tools) and the Paleoindian period of approximately 10,000 to 12,000 years ago in the Northeast. Boisvert has also conducted fieldwork and research in Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Texas, Quebec and France.
